Cincinnati Children's B4 OR

The Fetal Surgery project required the installation of seven new patient beds. To accomplish this, it was necessary to relocate existing labs, offices and the morgue. After demolition was complete, we built new patient rooms with adjoining support spaces. Each room was fitted with up-to-date headwalls and equipped with a patient lift system. Ten new windows were installed in the building in order to get the required amount of natural light into the 14,755-square-foot space.

The NICU project consisted of an 11-bed expansion with accompanying support spaces. Located where the most complex brain surgeries are performed, a skilled team was needed to oversee the construction site. Adding to the complexity, the renovation site was positioned underneath the Cardiac ICU and directly adjacent to patient rooms. Due to the location of this project, on any given weekend we were required to close three or more of the busiest operating room suites at 5 p.m. on a Friday, install under-slab plumbing, replace ceilings, and re-open the suites for surgery at 5 a.m. the following Monday. There were eight phases of work in this 18,000 square foot renovation. Each phase was executed flawlessly.
